A large number of lakes on Durmitor are of glacial origin. The lakes are a major contributor to the overall beauty of the Durmitor National Park. All the lakes are known as MOUNTAIN EYES and that’s where the hotel got its name from GORSKE OCI = MOUNTAIN EYES. First place amongst the lakes, for its beauty and attractiveness, is Black Lake, composed of two bodies of water – a small and a large lake. Black Lake is located at the heart of a dense coniferous forest and although it seems as if it is hundreds of miles from any human habitation, it is just a few minutes’ walk from Hotel GORSKE OCI. The lake is situated at an altitude of 1,442 metres, has an area of about 515,000 m2 and a maximum depth of about 25 meters.
